Alexandra
Back from a sojourn in Dorset where I was up to no good in a castle and plenty of it in a stable. Like Jesus with added peroxide. This after our quest for Dungeness and Derek Jarman’s garden was aborted due to a closed road and a depression brought on by bad chips in Camber. I do object to an unpleasant chip. It must have some semblance to potato, albeit one buggered in oil. Hastings has several excellent chipperies along with the reputation for being just the place to lose your teeth through one means or another. I like living there and not just for said convincing reasons. It is the equivalent of a magician’s box. You can disappear for a goodly while then emerge more or less intact with the addition of a feather boa on a foreign gentleman’s lap.
Listening to:
The Victorian English Gentlemen’s Club. The name alone is marvellous.
Reading:
According to Queeney – Beryl Bainbridge;
Nicholas Nickleby - Dickens.
Eating:
and about time too.
