Tris
Increasingly bizarre life bowls hard, like Simon Jones without an ankle injury. Maybe it always does in late summer. Challenge seems ever-present; existence was never mundane but now, drunk on the sun in full late bloom, lurches from drama to crisis and back again. There is, as there should be, a curious, perverse pleasure in sacrificing comfort to principle (in my bastardised version of evolution it is the struggle to be fittest, though my own sense of 'fit' is apparently significantly different from others' - I hope, vainly in both senses, to be understood); if only the logical outcome were something other than constant discomfort. Whinge!
This week's pleasures ('week' in the loosest sense): Gilda, Camber Sands in the sun, Bexhill beach in the wind, Heidi's highly fashionable white jacket and black trousers, the warm welcome at Kemp Town's Golden Cannon, Tony Buckle.
Reading: horoscopes in magazines marketed to women. And taking them seriously.
Listening to: well, trying to avoid listening to anybody else's music. Have become superstitious about being unduly influenced. I think this is also known as paranoia. Although I did hear a snatch of Smashing Pumpkins' 'Rhinoceros' the other day - now there's a band to ponder on.
Watching: more people posting on our forum, with delight.
