PRESS: Unpeeled has reviewed The Black Tulips EP.
Here is what they say:
The Black Tulips "Just Keep Coming"
Snotty girl vox that put you in mind of a more suitably deranged Goldfrapp harpy, but the clanky riffery that grenades casually around the place makes you wonder what Bowie and Bolan would have got up to if they'd had more money and less sensible friends back in the day, never mind, all irrelevant because "I Don't Want You" is moving the goalposts nearer the insane, Brian Eno side of the early Roxy Music battlefield, albeit, one that's being shelled by arse-end Blur and, it's safe to say, well, fairly safe, to say that The Black Tulips are just and I mean just on the right side of the divide between wilful sonic, violent incomprehensibilty and pop-tarting accessibilty with "Sad Sally" being a cutely dangerous glam-metal single of sorts. Phew, it was a shit to write, worse to read, so a listen will be more of a treat than we all deserve; www.theblacktulips.com.
